Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers Episode 21 Green with evil Part 5 Breaking the spell, Recap/Review
So here we are the final episode of the Green with evil saga. Will the rangers free Tommy from Rita's spell? From the episode title they're at least gonna try. So to the episode.
The rangers are still riling from the shocking revelation Tommy and the green ranger are one in the same. They can't believe he would do this. Even though they only knew him. what less than a day before Rita turned him?
Moving on, Alpha figures Rita put a spell on him, to which Jason responds they have to help him.
Alpha tries to get Zordon back for the millionth times, while the rangers looks for Tommy. Kimberly finds him, and tells him she knows he's the green ranger. To which he reveals he knows she's the pink ranger, and his eyes flash green. She asks him to let the rangers help him, but he refuses, saying he's loyal to Rita.
After Kimberly fills the others in, Trini runs in out of breath (Though she could've called over the communicator, Billy fixed them) She says a monster is attacking the business district.
Said monster is the dragonzord, Rita summoned it so Tommy could finish off the rangers.
The rangers arrive and get wrecked, but lucky for them Alpha brought Zordon back, and he brings back the zords.
The tyrannosaurus zord and the dragon have a cool fight. The tyrannosaurus even stood on its' tail.
But still not good enough, so megazord time. They defeat the dragonzord, but still need to free Tommy.
Jason jumps out the megazord with his power sword, and him and Tommy fight it out.
It's pretty even, and when Jason gets his chance, he blasts the sword of darkness out of existence. Literally it just disappears.
Once Tommy's free Jason invites him to the team. Tommy's surprised they would want him after all he did. But Jason acknowledges that was Rita's influence, not the real Tommy. They shake hands welcoming Tommy to the team.
At the command center, Zordon says the prophecy has come true six rangers united. He also give Tommy the three rules of being a ranger. Tommy agrees, and the episode ends with a jump in the air freeze frame.
Green with evil is a fun, action packed, dramatic five-parter. My favorite episode of the five is one, because things went from fine, it's the end of everything real quick. But they did good making sure there was always a crisis, so you never feel like it's gonna be easy to get out of.
I do wish though Goldar and Scorpina we're in the fight to make it extra dramatic. But one I'm not sure they could beat them all, two fighting just Tommy was more personal, and three they probably didn't have footage, or the time to do so. But I still liked the ending.
Also I didn't realize how awesome Alpha has been throughout all of this. Until Zordon thanked him for his leadership. And he's right Alpha trapped the green ranger, brought Zordon back, told the not to give up on themselves or Tommy. Alpha was great.
Not mention Jason he hopeful, strong, and never thought of giving up. He proofed why he is the leader.
One last thing, it's so great seeing the iconic six ranger team come together.
