Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, Episode 19 Green with evil Part 3 The rescue, recap/review
Previously on Mighty Morphin' Reviews. Jason got kidnapped, Evil Tommy's a jerk, and rangers were making contact with Zordon. Oh and Goldar was about to kill Jason.
Now to the episode. Jason dodges at the last second, before Goldar could make him a human kabob. He lays on the floor, covered by the random fog everywhere.
Meanwhile Alpha and the rangers lose Zordon's signal, before he can finish saying something about the green ranger. And while computer searches for Zordon, the rangers search for Jason.
After Kimberly gets Bulk and Skull off her back, she runs into Tommy, who's still being a jerk. He lies and says Jason was a no show, and makes fun of Kimberly for being worry.
I really wanted her to punch him in the face, in the momentš”. Anyway Zack shows up, and Tommy just gives him the evil(Pun not intend) eye, and leaves.
Zack asks Kim what's wrong with him? She says she wish she knew. Zack tells her, he couldn't find Jason, and Kim says Tommy said Jason didn't show up. Zack can't believe that, so him and Kimberly follow Tommy.
Goldar tells Rita, Kimberly is suspicious of Tommy, so she sends putties to attack Kimberly and Zack. The two take care of the putties, and Kimberly notes it's weird the putties left Tommy alone.
Back in the dark dimension the green ranger takes over for Goldar, Rita wants him to dispose of Jason. The green ranger and Jason fight latter winning, at the same time Billy is fixed the communicators, and works on teleporting Jason, to the command center.
The green ranger is about to finish Jason off, when Billy teleports Jason away. Goldar berates the green ranger for not destroying Jason. And green ranger promises to do it, if given another chance. To which Goldar response he may get it.
Jason informs the others he was abducted after seeing Tommy, which Kim and Zack tell he contradicts what said earlier.
But they can't harp on it long, because Rita's called on an old friend Scorpina, who launches an attack on Angel Grove.
She's able to take down Jason, but Goldar takes her back, before she can do any else. Claiming she can't handle 1on5. Why not help her Goldar!. I think Goldar just didn't want anyone, but him to destroy the rangers.
If that's true he's gonna get his chance, as Rita makes him grow. And he goes on a rampage destroying buildings. Hopefully empty ones. While he does this Rita's gonna work on a spell to cause an eclipse, and stop the megazord's solar power. Which it apparently runs, though they haven't mentioned it the last eighteen episodes.
The episode ends with the rangers watching Goldar on the viewing globe. Billy thinks it's a trap(Which it is), but Jason says they don't have a choice.
What I like most about this episode is the rangers putting the pieces together something's up with Tommy. It's fun watching your heroes try to solve a question, you already know the answer to.
Also worth mentioning Scorpina makes her debut. And I use to not notice to differences between Super Sentai and Power Rangers, and I mean even a couple years ago. But now that I notice it's real obviously, like the dubbing for Scorpina's voice, I could instantly tell. It doesn't worsen the episodes, or anything. It's just interesting how you don't notice something, then when you do it becomes super noticeable, like magic.
Well thank you for reading, hoped you enjoyed.✌
